cut mat & sign

Mats are hand cut and signed. Framing is done in our studio.

Canvas art blocks

Wood is hand selected, cut, sanded, drilled for hanging and painted.  Giclee canvas prints are mounted onto blocks using archival book binding paste, trimmed and coated with a UV fixative spray.  Final blocks are individually bagged.

Marble tiles

Giclee prints are produced with a print/ink suitable for transferring via high heat into pieces of tumbled Botticino marble.  Marble is hand selected for each image according to the placement of its individual inherent imperfections.  During the heat transfer process, the image becomes a permanent part of the stone itself, resisting scratches, staining and UV deterioration.  Each marble tile is backed with cork, enabling it to be used as coaster in addition to being displayed as a piece of art.

Professional Credits

Holly Young received a BA from Gordon College in Wenham, MA.  Following her undergraduate education, she pursued her life long interest in art and architecture by first attending the Montserrat School of Art where she discovered a love for the watercolor medium.  She continued to develop her passion for painting by studying under award winning artist, Jack Jones.  Combining these interests led her to the Boston Architectural College where she was further trained in architectural illustration.

Artist statement

Holly regularly paints landscapes, seascapes, buildings and structures in a style honoring the tradition of realism.  Her subjects are brought to life by capturing the essence of warm late afternoon light, bold shapes and texture.  Her studies and experience have provided her a solid knowledge of composition, perspective and value.

Holly's studio is location in the village of Manchester by the Sea, north of Boston.  From her home and travels, she has filled watercolor pads with images of favorite landscapes and buildings.  The coastline of Cape Ann, its rich history and quaint architecture continue to provide quality of light that has inspired American artists for more than 200 years.
